Our Teacher Morah Elizabeth, grew up in the Portland Jewish Community. Morah Elizabeth first watched her mother’s involvement in developing early childhood education at the Jewish Community Center and then chose preschool education as her own path while attending Portland State University.
Morah Elizabeth has been an early childhood educator for over thirty years. She loves to be involved in supporting children exploring their world and learning through creative play, art and movement. Morah Elizabeth cherishes the diverse backgrounds of her students and celebrates that diversity by helping the children learn from each other. She enjoys teaching children Jewish values such as caring for others and our community, inclusion, thoughtful problem solving and respect for all.
Morah Elianne grew up in Brooklyn, N.Y. and moved to Portland, from the Washington, D.C. area, in 1992. She has over 20 years’ experience working with young children, she creates a safe & inviting classroom environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace. She believes that helping children develop &
practice problem–solving skills & conflict
resolutions is an essential aspect of the preschool
Morah Elianne enjoys sharing her joy in Judaism and the learning process between teacher, child & families. She has taught young children Shabbat services, Art Enrichment, Yoga and developed Summer Camp programs.
Morah Elianne and Morah Elizabeth met over 15 years
ago in a community adult education program Melton program, and found commonality in philosophies and shared interests with working with young children and families. She has helped Morah Elizabeth develop age
appropriate Judaic components that are intergraded
in the classroom each day.
